The Chancel Choir of Salem Presbyterian Church is comprised of forty youth and adults who provide special music for each worship service, as well as support during hymns and other musical responses. Singing a wide range of traditional sacred and classical anthems, the choir also performs larger choral works. The members of Salem Presbyterian Church’s Chancel Choir are church members who love music, love singing, and love participating in the life of Salem Presbyterian Church. All who are interested are invited and welcomed to join our choir. Our rehearsals are hard work, but great fun, great fellowship and another opportunity to give thanks and praise. No previous musical experience is necessary — just a love of singing. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m.
Salem Presbyterian Church has both an adult and a youth handbell choir. This is an opportunity for fun, praise, and great music making!
- The adult handbell choir rehearses on Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
- The youth choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Salem Presbyterian Church’s music ministry offers training choirs for children and youth age three through 5th grade.
The group is divided as follows:
- The Cherub Choir: Ages three to five
- The Children’s Choir: Kindergarten through 5th grade
The choirs meet on Wednesday afternoons during RoundTable, and participants learn to use their singing voices, play musical games, and start learning music skills appropriate for their age. The various choirs sing at worship services several times during the year, depending on the confidence of the group.
